Welcome to BITS Pharmacy

Institute of Pharmacy since its inception in 2005 has always nurtured an ambition of shaping the globally competent pharmacy professional of the future. It offers GTU affiliated UG and PG courses in Pharmacy. Also Ph.D scholars of GTU, HNGU, JNU, CHARUSAT, RKU and UKTU are pursuing research at this institute.

The institute offers practical hands-on training in state of the art laboratories equipped with advanced sophisticated instruments and strives to be reckoned as a center of excellence in the field of Pharmaceutical education and research.

Knowledge: The budding Pharmacy Graduates, as an integral part of the health care team, will be having strong theoretical and fundamental knowledge to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and public health. They will also possess necessary practical skill sets in manufacturing drugs of best quality and excel in patient counseling, to alleviate sufferings of humanity.

Core Competence: To provide students with a solid foundation in fundamentals and advances of Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy, as per the requirement of Pharmaceutical Industries, Community and Hospital Pharmacy, and pharmaceutical marketing. The Program aims to make students competent for the future, by making them industry ready.

Multidisciplinary Approach: To train students with good knowledge along with practical efficiency in Pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, Drug properties, synthesis, molecular modeling, formulation & development, analytical aspects in research and design with the help of industrial visits and guest lectures. Enable them to extend this knowledge to create novel Herbal & Synthetic Pharmaceutical products for the benefit of life.

Babaria Institute of Pharmacy, BITS Edu Campus received THE TRUE IMPACT AWARD 2016 by District CSR Cell, Federation of Gujarat Industries and Cognito, Honouring Excellence in Social Responsibility in the category of Academic Institute on 19th February, 2016. The award was received by Dr. Vandana B. Patel, Principal of the institute from the Honourable Dignitories, Padma Shri Arunachalam Muruganantham, Social Entrepreneur and Avantika Singh Aulakh, IAS, District Collector, Vadodara during CSR Conclave 2016.

The Honourable Chairman of BITS Edu Campus Shri Jagdishbhai D Patel was honoured and bestowed with the title “Samaj Ratna” recently by Saurashtra Leuva Patel Seva Samaj for his profound contribution in creation of the world class facility for professional education in the field of engineering, pharmacy and physiotherapy, with special emphasis to help and encourage the needy, deprived and poor students. All India First Rank in GPAT-2013
We congratulate Ankit Patel student of Babaria Institute of Pharmacy for securing All India First Rank in GPAT-2013 exam conducted by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Ankit has scored 361 out of 500. In all 13 students have qualified GPAT-2013 from this Institute.   • Dr. Prachi Pandey completed the PG Diploma in Patents laws (Proximate) from National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, Hyderabad and bagged 1st rank in India with A++ grades.
  • Mrs. Prachi Pandey was awarded PhD degree by Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, for research on the title: “Novel carrier systems for targeted drug delivery in the treatment of arthritis” after successful completion of PhD public viva-voce and acceptance of thesis on 1st July, 2017 by the panel of experts from India and abroad.
  • AICTE, Department of Science and Technology  & Confederation of Indian Industries jointly organised “India Innovation Initiatives 2015”  to recognize top  innovators and entrepreneurs of  India  in year 2015 from 4th -7th December 2015, at IIT, Delhi . A project titled “Novel Carrier Systems For Targeted Drug Delivery In The Treatment of Arthritis” undertaken at BITS Edu Campus by Ms.Prachi Pandey, a faculty member of Babaria Institute of Pharmacy was selected among top 16 innovations  out of  740 entries. She received appreciation award from Dr.Y.S Rajan, distinguished  Scientist-Indian Space Research Organization.

  • Received cheque of Rs. 3000/- as per the publication policy of BITS Edu Campus for the contribution of a book chapter titled “Nutraceuticals and anaemia in pregnancy” in international book titled “Nutraceuticals for Prenatal, Maternal, and Offspring’s Nutritional Health” Published by CRC press, Taylor and Francis group, USA.

Dr. Meenakshi Patel- Received ‘INNOVATIVE ACADEMICIAN OF THE YEAR 2019’ award, for outstanding and exemplary contribution towards education and Research – from Prof. Hari Haran, Advisor (Approval), AICTE and Prof. A. P. Mittal, President, CEGR and Member Secretary, AICTE, on 18th April 2019 at New Delhi during Inaugural Summit of Indian Education Festival, organized by Centre for education Growth and Research (CEGR), in the presence of many eminent personalities like Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and Prof. Navin Sheth, Vice chancellor, Gujarat Technological University.

Mrs. Meenakshi Bhavesh Patel was awarded PhD degree by Gujarat Technological University,Ahmedabad, for her research on “Formulation and evaluation of Gastro Retentive Drug Delivery System for Antidiabetic Drugs” after successful completion of PhD public viva-voce and acceptance of thesis on 22nd March 2018.

  • Awarded as Admission councillor of the year 2017 by BITS Edu Campus, Vadodara.
  • Stood 2ndin the Group discussion competition organized by Acumen at Babaria Institute of Pharmacy on 3rd February 2017.
  • Presented paper in OMICS International conference, Pharmaceutical Summit and Expo on the title – Formulation and evaluation of floating micosponges for gastroretention of an antidiabetic drug at New Delhi, India on 08thto 10th October 2015. Pharma Summit-2015 brought together top dynamic pharmaceutical representatives under one roof who addressed the key issues of the global market. It was a scientific platform to meet fellow key decision makers all-around the Academic Institutions, Healthcare Institutes, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, making the congress a perfect platform to share experience, foster collaborations through the research talks & presentations to put forward many thought provoking strategies.
  • Fetched the MRP grant of Rs. 1,10,000 from GUJCOST for PhD. Work titled “Formulation and evaluation of floating microsponges of an antidiabetic drug” in the year 2015-16.
  • Co-investigator of consultancy project titled “Animal and Microbial study of the product ‘Green clean’”, with grant of Rs. 1,30,000 from the industry in 2014.
  • Coordinated a technical Event “Anushthan’11” organized by Babaria Institute of Pharmacy on 11thand 12th Feb 2011.
  • Guided two industrial defined projects.

    Mrs. Shalini Sharma was awarded PhD degree by RK University, Rajkot, for her research on “Preparation, Evaluation and Standardization of Antidandruff Polyherbal Haircare Formulation” after successful completion of PhD public viva-voce and acceptance of thesis on 12th October, 2017

  • Esha B. Shah received ‘Young Woman in Health and Medical Sciences’ (Major Area of Study – Pharmaceutical Chemistry) award at the 5th Venus International Women Awards – VIWA 2020 on 7 th March 2020 at Green Park Chennai, India during the 5th Annual Women’s Meet (AWM 2020).
  • She also chaired a session as a keynote speaker on the topic ‘Law of attraction and Neurolinguistic Programming for Career Driven Women’ during the 5th Annual Women’s Meet (AWM 2020).
  • Awarded SSIP Grant of 1.5 Lakh Rupees from GTU for my PhD project, “Nutraceutical Loaded Nanosponges” at the final jury funding round on 28 th April, 2019 at GTU Startup and Innovation Centre, Regional Hub, Vadodara.
  • Secured 1 st rank for GTU Innovation Council Event-Tech Pitch for my PhD project and the topic got selected for further SSIP grant funding, at GTU Tech fest-Aahvan-2019 (Zone 3), held at BITS Edu Campus.(8 th and 9 th March, 2019)
  • Esha Shah, was awarded the Young Faculty of the Year-2019 award at the 10th Shiksha Gaurav Puraskaar ceremony organized by CEGR (Center for Education Growth and Research)on 18th April at New Delhi.
